With the vision of Planting The Future, Hoffman & McNamara is a vertically integrated public space landscaping and wholesale nursery team. Since the company was founded in 1977, the focus has been on developing meticulous landscaping processes for municipalities and local governments, and on being a proven logistics partner for high-volume landscapers and re-wholesalers. The Hoffman & McNamara headquarters is located on nearly 200 acres of irrigated nursery land in Hastings, Minnesota.

Hoffman & McNamara is founded by Gary Hoffman & Dennis McNamara. The first tree planting contract is completed with the City of Farmington.
1977
Purchased 119 acres of irrigated farmland (planted the first crop of trees the following spring)
1986
Landscape shop & office relocated to nursery location in Hastings, the first of many major infrastructure improvements at the site in the coming years.
1998
Mike McNamara purchases business becoming a 2nd generation leader
2004
Hoffman and McNamara installs 2,500 trees, 14,500 shrubs and perennials, 75 acres of native and turf seeding, and 15 acres of irrigation in less than 12 months on an 11 mile stretch of Hwy 52 through Rochester, MN.
2008
Hoffman and McNamara partners to renovate the landscape plantings and irrigation of the North Dakota State Capitol grounds
2014
Hoffman and McNamara contracts with the Metropolitan Council to perform landscape plantings, irrigation, and plant maintenance in Woodbury and St. Paul for the Gold Line Rapid Bus Lane project, again putting Hoffman and McNamara at the center of one of the Upper Midwest’s largest and most complex landscape projects.
